If You Are 70+
Drivers 70 or older may be required to retest after pleading guilty to a driving violation or collision. The test may include a written test, vision test, and a 30-minute road test with an Expressway portion.
If You Are 80+
Drivers 80 or older who are told they require a road test after a Seniors Group Education Session usually complete a 20-minute road test with no Expressway portion. vehicle control.
Vehicle Rules
If you still have a G licence or higher class, training can be done in your vehicle. If your licence has been downgraded to G1, training MUST be done in our dual brake equipped and commercially insured car.

What happens if my licence was downgraded to G1?
If your licence has been downgraded to G1, training must be done in Ottawa Driving School’s dual-control, commercially insured vehicle.
Can I use my own vehicle?
If you still have a G licence or higher class, training can be done in your own vehicle. If your licence was downgraded to G1, you must train in the driving school car.
How much does senior re-testing support cost?
One hour is $75 + tax, two hours is $150 + tax, and the rental package is $169 + tax. Pickup and drop-off add-ons may apply.
